Council of Europe asks Türkiye for information on Kavala by October 14

The Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, at its meeting on September 15-16, repeated its call for the immediate release of Osman Kavala and asked that concrete steps taken or planned be reported by October 14. The file will be taken up again no later than the December 1-3 meeting.

Banking regulator BDDK revokes Bank Mellat's Istanbul branch operating license

Under a decision dated September 18, the banking regulator BDDK revoked the operating license of the Istanbul Türkiye Central Branch of Iran-based Bank Mellat, under paragraph (b) of the first clause of Article 71 of the Banking Law. The decision was published in the Official Gazette.

Prosecutor Uçuk suspended from duty, detention order issued against him

The Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) Second Chamber unanimously decided to temporarily suspend Bozova Public Prosecutor Türkşad Kunthan Uçuk from duty for three months. EU says it is following detentions in "My Family Is Safe" operations with concern

In operations spanning 15 provinces, legal proceedings were reportedly launched against 162 suspects, 9 associations and 13 businesses.
