Aydın is one of Türkiye's 81 provinces. With its center in Efeler, the province has a population of approximately 1,166,000 as of 2024, making it the third-largest city in the Aegean Region, and it has 17 districts.

3.8-magnitude earthquake recorded off Kuşadası Gulf

AFAD reported a 3.8-magnitude earthquake at 9:09 p.m. with its epicenter in the Kuşadası Gulf in the Aegean Sea; the depth was given as 7.83 kilometers by AFAD and 8.1 kilometers by Kandilli Observatory.

26 detained arrested in Sakarya-based illegal betting operation

In an operation carried out in Sakarya, Istanbul and Kocaeli, 31 suspects were caught; a transaction volume of approximately 562 million lira was reportedly identified in account activity. Star also reported a separate operation across 7 provinces based in Aydın.
