The EU said it was following the detentions and access blocks "with concern," had "noted" reports that most detainees were released, and reiterated its call for anti-discrimination recommendations to be implemented.

Two people arrested in drug investigation targeting celebrities

Sayat Zurnacı and Aytaç Kart, referred to court in the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office investigation, were arrested; actress Nilperi Şahinkaya, former footballer Hasan Şaş and one other suspect were released under judicial control. Sources gave differing figures for the number detained, ranging from 15 to 21.

State media, Pro-government press, Neutral press, Opposition press and Foreign press These outlets reported differing detention figures of 21, 20, 18, 16 and 15, and said that arrest was requested for three of the five people referred to court.

Opposition press Aykırı wrote that 24 suspects were processed across two investigations, that the number detained reached 21 during the day, and that of those referred to court, 2 people were arrested and 3 were released under judicial control.

Operation in Istanbul and Muğla in forex and crypto fraud investigation

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced an operation against a network allegedly defrauding foreign nationals through call centers. Sources differ on the number of suspects detained: 174 or 191.

Foreign press Cyprus Genç TV, citing the Interior Ministry's statement, reported that 174 suspects were detained in the operation and that assets worth 1.5 billion lira (TL), believed to be derived from crime, were seized.

Neutral press Dünya's report, however, stated that 191 suspects were taken into custody as part of the investigation.
