Judith Butler

Professor at the University of California, Berkeley

Judith Butler is an American post-structuralist philosopher who has contributed to feminist philosophy, queer theory, political philosophy and ethics. She is a professor in the Departments of Rhetoric and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds the title of Hannah Arendt Professor of Philosophy at the European Graduate School. She received her doctorate in philosophy from Yale University in 1984.
