Niğde

Province in Türkiye's Central Anatolia Region

Niğde is an administrative province located in the southeast of Türkiye's Central Anatolia Region and in the Cappadocia area, with Niğde city as its center. The province, at an altitude of 1,229 meters, had a population of 374,492 as of 2025.

3 people rescued from car swept away in flood in Ürgüp, fields flooded in Niğde

In the village of Karakaya in Nevşehir's Ürgüp district, three people in a car swept by floodwaters and trapped against a bridge were rescued with the help of villagers. In Niğde, cultivated land in some towns was flooded, while heavy rain disrupted traffic in Trabzon and caused a power outage in one neighborhood.
