Public professional body to which civil engineers belong

The Chamber of Civil Engineers is a public professional body in Türkiye established under Law No. 6235, adopted on January 27, 1954. Founded on December 19, 1954, the chamber requires mandatory membership for every graduating civil engineer. Known by its short name İMO, it is affiliated with the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB).

Prof. Dr. Uğur Ersoy, doyen of civil engineering, dies

Uğur Ersoy, born in Mersin in 1932 and a retired faculty member of Boğaziçi University and ODTÜ, died at the age of 91. The Chamber of Civil Engineers issued a condolence message; the first ceremony will be held in Istanbul, with Ersoy to be buried in Mersin.
