Boğaziçi University

A state research university located in Istanbul

Boğaziçi University is a state research university located in Istanbul. Its predecessor, Robert College, was founded on September 16, 1863 by Cyrus Hamlin and Christopher Robert; on September 10, 1971, the South Campus was transferred to the Republic of Türkiye, establishing the university. The university has seven campuses and provides education in English.

Prof. Dr. Uğur Ersoy, doyen of civil engineering, dies

Uğur Ersoy, born in Mersin in 1932 and a retired faculty member of Boğaziçi University and ODTÜ, died at the age of 91. The Chamber of Civil Engineers issued a condolence message; the first ceremony will be held in Istanbul, with Ersoy to be buried in Mersin.
