Erciyes is an extinct volcano located in the Central Anatolia Region. It is a large stratovolcano rising near the Sultansazlığı plains, 25 kilometers southwest of Kayseri.

Defence Ministry: Turkish commandos train with Somali soldiers on Mount Erciyes

The Defence Ministry announced that personnel of the 1st Airborne and Commando Brigade in Kayseri conducted a tactical movement from Zincidere to Mount Erciyes together with visiting Somali military personnel. Ambush, cave search and "Uçangöz" exercises were held at Tekir Plateau.
