Pro-government press, Neutral press and Opposition press These sources gave the diesel discount as either 4.09 lira or 3.97 lira, reported the per-liter price in Istanbul as 96.31 or 96.34 lira, and reported no change for gasoline.

Foreign press Sputnik Türkiye reported that the price of diesel per liter fell by an average of 4.10 lira, and that following the 4.70-lira hike on 17 September, prices dropped back below 100 lira.

Neutral press, Opposition press and Foreign press These sources reported the hike as being between 4.60 and 4.81 lira; DW Türkçe cited the reintroduction of the special consumption tax (ÖTV) in September and a global supply shortage among the factors.

Neutral press Kısa Dalga reported the expected hike as 4.62 lira and gave the new per-liter prices as 100.19 lira on Istanbul's Anatolian side, 101.43 lira in Ankara, and 101.70 lira in Izmir.

Özel reacts to diesel price hike, calls for removal of fuel taxes

Özgür Özel said the per-liter price of diesel would exceed 100 lira at midnight on September 16, with 20 lira of that coming from special consumption tax (ÖTV) and VAT. Özel called for fuel taxes to be removed immediately.
