The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the most powerful organ of the United Nations, tasked with maintaining security and peace among member states. Along with the International Court of Justice, it is one of two UN bodies with the authority to make binding decisions. This authority is defined in the United Nations Charter, signed by nearly all member states.

Israel's UN representative targets Türkiye's military presence in Syria

Danny Danon, at the UN Security Council session on Syria, showed a map and said Israel's buffer zone covers 0.1% of Syrian territory while the area controlled by Türkiye covers 5%, and claimed that Türkiye was following "Iran's proxy strategy."
