International Criminal Court

International court for war crimes and crimes against humanity

The International Criminal Court is an international court whose founding document is the Rome Statute, and which deals with war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and crimes of aggression. It was established on July 1, 2002, and began operating on March 11, 2003. Its headquarters is in The Hague, Netherlands, and 124 countries are parties to the court.

Turkish shipping company files complaint with ICC over Black Sea ship attack

T&O Denizcilik, along with the crew of the Turkish-flagged ship Reyhan Sarı, which was attacked in the Black Sea on July 22, and the family of a crew member who died, filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court; the complaint claims Ukraine deliberately targeted the ship.
