Premier-class road racing motorcycle competition event

Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier-class motorcycle racing event held on road circuits sanctioned by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the early 20th century. With the founding of the FIM in 1949, selected events began to count toward an official World Championship, which has become the oldest established motorsport world championship.
