Nicosia is located in the center of the island of Cyprus and is the capital of both the Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC). It is the most populous city in Cyprus and its most important center of culture, industry, trade and transport. Geographically, it is located at 35°10' north, 33°21' east.

New Atatürk Stadium and sports complex project unveiled in Nicosia

At the presentation in the Republic Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz described the project as a "hallmark project"; the complex will be built across an area of approximately 56,000 square meters with an 8,000-person capacity. Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak said a multifunctional stadium will be constructed in the city center.
