Expert examination ordered for "Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu" series in Kozinoğlu investigation

The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ordered an expert examination in the investigation into the 2011 death of former MİT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu, covering allegations that the TV series 'Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu' depicted a character being killed as a "traitor to the homeland" and contained FETÖ propaganda involving vehicles with "FG" plates. Three screenwriters of the series gave statements, and proceedings were launched against 11 suspects in the investigation.

Where reports differ

State media TRT Haber and Daily Sabah highlighted the prosecutor's office statement, reporting that the investigation was being conducted meticulously, that the allegations regarding the series would be clarified by an expert panel, and that proceedings had been initiated against prison staff.

Opposition-leaning press Evrensel and DW Turkish emphasized that journalist Selahattin Günday, detained as part of the same investigation, was detained a second time without having his statement taken by the prosecutor's office; his lawyers described the ruling as a "backup detention" and a violation of the right to defense.
