The International Energy Agency is an independent organization headquartered in Paris, established under the OECD framework during the 1973-1974 oil crisis. It operates to respond to disruptions in oil supply and to provide data and statistics for energy markets. In recent years it has also supported cooperation in areas such as energy conservation, technology and innovation.

Report: Türkiye's greenhouse gas emissions rose 4.2% in 2025

According to a report by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, Türkiye's emissions reached 610.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2025; this was the highest percentage increase among the 16 largest emitting countries. The global increase over the same period was 0.7%.
