The Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet), founded on March 3, 1924, carries out matters related to the beliefs, worship, and moral principles of Islam, informs society about religion, and manages places of worship. It was originally established under the Prime Ministry and was placed under the Presidency on July 9, 2018.

Controversy over vehicle purchased by Denizli Provincial Mufti's Office

According to Sözcü, the roughly 1 million lira vehicle used by Denizli Provincial Mufti Abdullah Pamuklu was sold and replaced with a brand-new vehicle claimed to have a market value of about 5 million lira; the Din-Bir-Sen union criticized the purchase.
