Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said approximately 90% agreement has been reached in negotiations with Israel, and that Israel stepped back in the final stage. He said Turkish bases in the northwest have decreased and status talks are ongoing.
At a panel of the Atlantic Council in New York, he also touched on his meeting with US President Donald Trump. He related that he said that the Golan Heights are Syrian territory according to UN resolutions and cannot be donated to anyone else.
