Financial Stability Committee holds emergency meeting: "No structural risk"

Following the decline in Borsa Istanbul (BIST), the committee, chaired by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, said the issue stemmed from credit and liquidity strains in certain funds of a limited number of portfolio management companies, and that it was temporary and manageable.

- MASAK probe requested for 4 companies in fund investigation A probe by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) was requested into the financial transactions of executives and their relatives at Pusula Finans Holding, Tera Yatırım, Hedef Holding, and Bulls Yatırım. YENİ Party lawmaker Sezgin Tanrıkulu said a loss of 525 billion lira (TL) was condoned in recent months and more than 500,000 small investors were affected.

- Capital Markets Board halts trading of 7 portfolio companies' funds on TEFAS The Capital Markets Board (SPK) suspended buying and selling of funds managed by Tera, Pusula, Hedef, Atlas, A1, Pardus and Bulls Portföy on TEFAS; according to ForInvest data, a liquidation decision was taken for 130 funds, and the equity ratio for margin trading was lowered to 20%.
