# Debate over Erdoğan's re-candidacy: lawyer raises objection over election law

According to Yeniçağ, Presidential Chief Advisor Mehmet Uçum said "Erdoğan's candidacy is settled, there is no obstacle before him," while lawyer Ömer Faruk Eminağaoğlu argued, citing election law provisions, that running again is not possible.
