# Diesel price per liter exceeds 100 lira in major cities

With the new price hike, diesel rose above 100 lira in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Sources diverge on the size of the hike: a range of 4.60 to 4.81 lira, or 4.62 lira.

## Where reports differ

- **Neutral press, Opposition press and Foreign press** — These sources reported the hike as being between 4.60 and 4.81 lira; DW Türkçe cited the reintroduction of the special consumption tax (ÖTV) in September and a global supply shortage among the factors.
- **Neutral press** — Kısa Dalga reported the expected hike as 4.62 lira and gave the new per-liter prices as 100.19 lira on Istanbul's Anatolian side, 101.43 lira in Ankara, and 101.70 lira in Izmir.
