# New service-score-based system introduced for judge and prosecutor appointments

Justice Minister Gürlek announced that under the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK)'s September 16 decision, service points and point ranking will become the main criteria for judge and prosecutor appointments, ending the east-west divide. The new system will begin with the 2027 Main Decree.
